CPC Leadership Team

CPC is currently led by three Trustees, 2 Elders and 1 Treasurer. Do read the Elders profiles below.

Brian Taylor

Brian has lived on Carpenders Park for over 39 years. He is married to Katherine and has 3 married daughters and 5 grandchildren.

In his working life, Brian has had several jobs, most notably 24 years in the RAF as a helicopter pilot, and 12 years in Christian ministry.

Although a regular churchgoer from the age of 3 years, it wasn’t until Brian left home and started attending Farnborough Parish Church, that he was confronted with the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In March ’61 he committed his life to Christ. Thirty years later he felt God call him into full-time Christian work. To begin with, he gained a BA at London Bible College and an MA at Kings College London.

On completion of his studies, Brian became Pastor of a Brethren Church in South Ruislip (8 years) followed by 4½  years as Pastor of Carpenders Park Church (CPC) which brought him to retirement in 2009.

Brian is no stranger to CPC. In 1983 he became involved with the group of Christians who founded the church and attended the first of our regular Services on 13 May 1984.

This is Brian’s third period as part of the church’s leadership team. He was an Elder from 1985-92, and Pastor 2004 -09.

Martin  Blake

Martin moved to Carpenders Park in 1988 with his wife Cath. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.

In 1981, Christians who were unafraid to share their faith invited Martin to a Home Group & a few weeks later, after reading Luke 11:9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”, God’s Holy Spirit felt a reality him and a new Christian Life began.

Whilst years of being a keen Christian intertwined with a greater number of Christian mediocrity, his belief that God speaks, works miracles today and wants us to live a decent life (loving our neighbour) remains. His faith has been knocked at times when bad things happened, but what doesn’t go away is The Truth that is Jesus of Nazareth.

Martin served as CPC Treasurer for about 25 years to the end of 2020.

At 9am on a Saturday you will see him at South Oxhey ParkRun, either slowly plodding round or taking his turn with a megaphone on the starting line.
